Stumbled upon this cool museum when I was in Montevideo. It has information about the plane crash in the Andes and how some of the people survived for 72 days despite the harsh conditions they faced due to the altitude, cold and lack of food/water. One controversial aspect to their survival is that it required them to resort to canibalism. This p hoto also shows how they melted snow to make water using the suns rays.
