I just couldn't resist snapping this photo. I have NO IDEA what this is about but it was in the inside of the church so it's not like a gargoyle to direct water or anything. They're called 'grotesques'. Most of them are copies from the 1840s and it was quite a scandal when the original ancient heads were removed.
