We eventually reached the end of our optional excursion and our time with local guide Lisa whom I rewarded with a generous tip. I left the bus to explore more of the City while Rhonda returned to the hotel via the bus. After an enjoyable walk through the Stroget I eventually reached my destination, Nyhavn, which translates as New Harbor. Nyhavn was dug out by Swedish prisoners as a canal to provide direct Baltic Sea access to the Kongens Nytorv (Kings Square). Nyhavn is considered the most photogenic part of Copenhagen. I’d have to agree. I returned to the hotel by metro train which was quick and inexpensive but very warm. Again that common theme - no air conditioning.
