Nothing is painted on, but instead every detail, every flower, every inscription is semi precious stones, inlaid into the white marble. In that way nothing fades, but instead catches the light, and forever changes. I am in love with Shah Jahan’s attention to detail - I bet he would have appreciated a good spreadsheet…
