New York, NY

This story will surely help you #feelgoodfriday and fill you up with #holidayspirit this weekend! Recently Paul Lodge and I got on the subway and there was this man was laying on the floor lifeless...sadly it’s a common site in NYC as many homeless flock to the trains in cold weather. As usual commuters walked past him without a second glance and stared into their phones mindlessly as the train moved on. A NYC Cop boarded and when he saw the man he immediately went over and shook him and pulled him up to his feet. I expected the officer would force the man to pull himself together and get off the train.. or maybe take him in (he seemed pretty drunk or high). I was shocked to see the Police Officer settle the man into a seat, pull a sandwich from his own lunch bag and give it to the homeless man. There were zero words spoken by either men, and the cop got off a the next stop. I wasn’t quick enough to get a photo of the cop, but did capture this moment of compassion...
