When NY Assemblyman Michael Blake started our meeting by getting his mother on speaker phone to thank us and listen in I knew right away that he is not a traditional politician. This morning I had the pleasure of meeting this young politician from the Bronx who is running for DNC Vice Chair and about 40 inspiring and powerful women that support him. I've marched and I've preached and I've cried... and this year I have committed to DOING MUCH MORE! Being surrounded by people that are making waves and pressing for change was invigorating and it was the motivation I needed after a rough election. I have committed to following my Grammy Elle's footsteps to protect the human rights of all mankind and do all I can to help my community and my country.
