Quito is situated high up in the mountains, so it took us a few days to catch our breath, since the air is so thin. We were staying in a nice hostel in the old centre, where there were ducks and chickens walking around in the garden.
On Sundays the centre of Quito is closed off for cars, so everyone goes out cycling. We rented some bikes and did a nice tour of the centre and a local park, until a torrential rain drove us back inside.
The next day it was still raining, so we decided to do an indoors activity: salsa dancing. We had a very patient instructor who taught us some moves and tried to give us some sense of rhythm as well.

Atlanta
