Not long after lunch we started hearing a strange new grinding noise. We eventually isolated where it was coming from, the left back wheel, but couldn't see anything caught or dragging. We were helped - as always (because Indians are so darned friendly!) - and a local rickshaw driver slowly guided us over to the nearest mechanic.

Stopping for lunch, this time in a small beach town in northern Maharashtra, was one of the day's main pleasures.

Passing near Vapi, India. I later learned that Vapi is considered the most polluted place in India and is amongst the top 10 most polluted places in the world. I am not in the least surprised.
