We left our hotel in Honfleur and stopped at McDonalds for breakfast and the use of their free wi-fi. Leaving there about 12.00pm we drove to Amiens, on our way driving over the Pont du Normandie Bridge, definately the largest bridge we have ever been over. Arrived at our hotel in Amiens at 2.00pm. We left at 2.30pm for a day on The Somme. We first went to Albert then continued on through La Boisselle, Pozieres, Bazentin and then visited the London Cemetary just outside Longueval. After that we returned via Pozieres to visit Mouquet Farm, the Thiepval Memorial and then the Northumberland Memorial Park near the village of Hamel. We drove back to Pozieres for tea at Cafe Le Tommy, a cafe dedicated to the Australian diggers who died at Pozieres during WW1.
