"Sala" means "mistakes", and "tiga" means "three".

Semarang, Indonesia

After grabbing a few hours sleep in the airport hotel in Jakarta (which I highly recommend for sanity's sake), we boarded Garuda Airlines (the Indonesian State Airline) for Semarang, in "Central Java".

My sister was awaiting our arrival in Semarang with her driver.

Jakarta, Indonesia

Landed around midnight Saturday Morning in Jakarta.

Having been met by a friend of my sister in Tokyo, we were helped through customs by someone familiar with the language. Because of the time of evening, and the help from our friend Donn-no, Customs was a breeze...essentially a quick rubber stamp. However, our luggage had not made the transfer in Tokyo, with such a short layover, so we spent approximately 45 minutes with the luggage claim folks finding our bags in their systems, and then filling out paperwork as where they could deliver it when it arrived.

Fortunately, our bags did arrive on Monday morning at the school.

Sign at ANA Desk in Tokyo--I should post it for Consumers calling into our office at Smith Bros.

Jakarta Airport--Major Improvements

Jakarta Airport--Major Improvements

Tokyo, Japan

Landed at Tokyo, NRT Airport at approximately 4:30PM Friday Evening, (having spent 13.5 hours on the first flight, and crossing the International Date Line).

This is a much smaller airport than I anticipated for Tokyo. I saw NO large buildings when flying over the country.

Spent less than 30 minutes to get through customs and go to the restroom before being ushered on to a bus to board our next flight to Jakarta, Indonesia.

Chicago

Set off from Chicago ORD on United Airlines flight 881 to Tokyo, Japan NRT
