This building accommodated until lately the Alkazar Cinema. it was built in 1467 and was added and repaired in subsequent periods. At the moment it is restored as it is planned to form a metro station.

The wall was built in the Venetian period (1423-1430) by the Venetians to resist the Turkish threat.

the tower of Trigonio (or Pyrovolio) dominates and offers magnificient views of the city. This was the point from where the Turks invaded the city in 1430.

The middle tower, and the largest one, was built by Tsaous Bey, the first Turkish governor of the city. As a result, the Eptapyrgio was called in Turkish “Yedi Kule” (seven towers), a name that follows the monument up until today.

The Eptapyrgio housed the city’s prison from the end of the 18th century until 1988, and has now turned into a cultural center.

This made up the last defence line should the enemy breach the outside fortress.

It is Koulouri or in Greek, they are known as "κουλούρι". Could be classified as somewhere between a cookie and bread. But with a little taste of sweetness in it.

Thessaloniki is a Greek port city on the Aegean Sea. Evidence of its Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empire history remains, especially around Ano Poli, the upper town. The rebuilt 20th-century city has a modern European architecture, and is a hub for international business and culture.

Nothing infront of the hotel but there's a mall 100 meters away.
